Science Shattered #2.

FILE NAME: Brief Investigation Into The Cando Event.

DATE: January 18Th 1994.

AGENT(S) INVOLVED: Agent Lauren Falcon.

FINDINGS.

At 12:00 approximately on the 18.1.1994, I was flown from Heathrow to the small, rural area of Cando in Spain to investigate the sighting of what seemed to be an explosion in the sky occuring earlier that morning.
Several eyewitnesses describe seeing a fireball appear in the sky and remain there for around one minute. After which a possible site for the explosion was identified when a new gorge was discovered in the hillside close to the village.
The limited scientific opinion which I was able to draw upon on the day suggested that a blast of subterranean gases had vented into the air, removing a large section of topsoil as it did. Technically speaking, the convective action of such could plausibly create an electrical charge separation sufficient enough to ignite the gases and create the fireball effect.

CONCLUSION.

After my investigation of the explosion site, I was left with the facts that the gorge was around 200 metres squared and of a very linear and rectangular shape, a shape of such I believe would not have been formed by a random and speedy release of gases.
As expected there was a large amount of foliage missing from the area of impact, which was abundant with greenery all around it. The missing clumps of vegetation were actually discovered a further 350 metres away from the gorge, up the hill and were not scorched or burnt as one would imagine. It looked as if the clump of removed foliage had been picked and carried a short distance away from the explosion.
In addition to these details a number of intricate but damaged electrical components were discovered, littering the gorge. These are now within The Agency's laboratories awaiting testing.
I can only conclude that the scientific explanation for the Cando event is extremely floored and I would put forward that the gorge was caused by a poorly piloted extra terrestrial craft and perhaps the gradient of the hill was underestimated. The explosion in the sky could plausibly have been an engine backfiring or simple a misinterpretation of the craft's lights. Detailed eyewitness reports would have been lacking due to the sheer amount of dust the impact would have created.
The event is similar in nature to the Tunguska Event in Russia in 1908, which also prompted intense speculation on the existence of alien life.

Agent Sure will return next week. The Truth Will out.
